This time we've watched Get Carter (1971) starring Michael Caine in one his iconic roles. Directed by Mike Hodges we try to decide if this film deserves it's reputation as a one of the best British films of the 70's.

Speaking of mistakes we also completely forgot to talk about the brilliant Ian Hendry. Hopefully we’ll find another role to wax lyrical about him in a later pod.

I did watch the remake with Sylvester Stallone after recording the podcast. It’s brainless , tell don’t show, make the star look as cool as possible Hollywood at its worst. Weirdly kept a lot of the characters surnames from the original which then sounded weird with American inflections. The anonymous American city setting missed a big point of the original too.
